Instructions for Ambene Visco Uno (sodium hyaluronate) 1%
Ambene® Visco Uno 1% is a synovial fluid prosthesis designed to be inserted directly into the joint. It comes in pre-filled syringes and is used to improve joint function, relieve pain, reduce inflammation and restore the natural balance in the cartilage with degenerative changes in cartilage tissue.
Ambene® Wisko Uno 1% is a sterile, thick solution of sodium hyaluronate with a high molecular weight (at least 3 million Daltons).
Hyaluronic acid is an important component of the extracellular matrix and is present in high concentrations in cartilage and synovial fluid. It is responsible for the viscosity and elasticity of synovial fluid. Injecting hyaluronic acid into the joint improves its functional state, prevents friction between the joint surfaces, reducing pain and inflammation. It also protects the cartilage from premature wear and tear, provides mobility and acts as a shock absorber, absorbing external effects and protecting the joint from damage. The solution of sodium hyaluronate is distributed locally in the joint cavity, where it undergoes changes and has a lubricating effect.
Removal or replacement of this agent is not possible because it is completely mixed with joint fluid.
Based on studies of similar products, therapeutic benefit may last up to 6 months or more, depending on the site of administration, stage of disease, and patient characteristics.
