Instructions for Cardiomagnet (Magnesium hydroxide, Aspirin)
Pharmacological properties:
By the acetylation reaction, acetylsalicylic acid irreversibly inhibits the COX enzyme and selectively inhibits the synthesis of thromboxane A2, which has aggregating properties. At higher doses, acetylsalicylic acid exhibits an analgesic and antipyretic effect.
Magnesium hydroxide, which is part of Cardiomagnil, protects the gastrointestinal mucosa from the direct irritating effect of acetylsalicylic acid.
After ingestion, acetylsalicylic acid is almost completely absorbed into the GI. The half-life is about 15 minutes, since acetylsalicylic acid, with the participation of esterases, quickly hydrolyzes to salicylic acid in the intestines, liver and blood plasma. The half-life of salicylic acid is about 3 hours, but can be significantly increased with the simultaneous administration of acetylsalicylic acid in a dose of more than 3 g as a result of saturation of enzyme systems. The bioavailability of acetylsalicylic acid is about 70%, but this value varies significantly, since acetylsalicylic acid is susceptible to presystemic hydrolysis in the mucosa of the GI and liver to salicylic acid under the influence of esterases. Bioavailability of salicylic acid is 80-100%. Magnesium hydroxide doses used in the preparation do not affect the bioavailability of acetylsalicylic acid.
Testimony:
Prevention of diseases accompanied by increased platelet aggregation
thrombosis,
embolism
myocardial infarction
unstable angina
migraine
ischemic stroke
cerebral circulatory disorders
operations (postoperative period) on vessels (aortocoronary bypass surgery
transcutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty).
Application Cardiomagnet:
Tablets are swallowed whole, washed down with water. If necessary, the tablet can be broken in half, chewed or pre-ground. Tablets should be taken immediately after meals.
Doses for adults: on the first day — 150 mg/day, then-75 mg once a day. The duration of the course of treatment is determined individually, depending on the indications and the severity of the disease.
Contraindications:
Recently suffered gastrointestinal bleeding, hemorrhagic stroke, thrombocytopenia, bleeding propensity, hemophilia, hemorrhagic diathesis, hypothrombinemia, AD or allergies caused by acetylsalicylic acid or other salicylates, erosive-ulcerative GI injuries (in exacerbation phase), renal
Side effects Cardiomagnet:
- Allergic reactions
- headache
- nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- rarely
- erosions
- GI ulcers
- gastrointestinal bleeding.
Special instructions:
Acetylsalicylic acid reduces the excretion of uric acid, which can lead to exacerbation of gout.
With prolonged use, it is necessary to control the level of hemoglobin in the blood.
With caution, the drug should be prescribed to patients with a history of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, diseases of the liver, kidneys, heart failure.
Interaction Cardiomagnet:
Rarely, when using Cardiomagnil in high doses, the action of oral anticoagulants is increased and the urs of probeside decreases, and the effectiveness of oral hypogluquisizing agents is reduced. Cardiomagnil enhances the action of methotrexate, chlorpropamide, antiaggregants and fibrinolithic agents and inhibits the action of spironolacone and some other diuretics, hypotensive agents. Antacids and colestyramine reduce the absorption of the drug.
overdose:
A dose of 150 mg/kg is dangerous for adults.
Symptoms of overdose are tinnitus, hearing loss, dizziness, sweating, anxiety, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting (sometimes with blood veins), tachipnoe or increased bleeding time. In rare cases, overdose may be impaired heart, very rarely - swelling of the lungs. Treatment is symptomatic.
