Pharmacological effect adapalene
Clenzite-C is a topical combination drug containing microspheres with adapalen and clindamycin. Adapalene is a retinoid metabolite that has an anti-inflammatory effect and a pronounced ability to dissolve comedones (both open and closed). It also normalizes keratinization and differentiation of epidermis.
The mechanism of action of adapalene is based on interaction with γ receptors of skin cells. This leads to a reduction in the adhesion of the epidermal cells to the hair follicle mouth and an acceleration of their exfoliation. As a result, microcomedones are less likely to form.
Adapalene has an anti-inflammatory effect of both in vivo and in vitro. It acts on inflammatory factors by inhibiting white blood cell migration to the site of inflammation and arachidonic acid metabolism. The drug also inhibits chemotaxis and chemokinetic reactions of polynuclear cells, which helps reduce inflammation.
