Pharmacological effect Combiflox

The inventive medicinal agent is embodied in the form of a combination of substances, the pharmacological effect of which is determined by the properties of each component.

Ornidazole is an antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent, its action is based on the biochemical reduction of the 5-nitrogroup ornidazole by intracellular transport proteins of anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. The reduced group interacts with the DNA of the microbial cells, inhibiting their nucleic acid synthesis, leading to bacterial death.

Ornidazole is effective against Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia lamblia, Entamoeba histolytica, and the anaerobic bacteria Bacteroides spp. (including Bacteroides fragilis, Bacteroides distasonis, Bacteroides ovatus, Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, Bacteroides vulgatus), Fusobacterium spp., and Clostridium spp. Aerobic organisms are insensitive to ornidazole.

Ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum, fluoroquinolone antimicrobial. It acts on the bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme responsible for the superhelization and stability of bacterial DNA, causing the destabilization of DNA chains leading to their death. Ofloxacin has a bactericidal effect.

The antimicrobial spectrum of ofloxacin encompasses gram-positive aerobic bacteria.

Indications ofloxacin

Application:

The drug is indicated for complex bacterial infections caused by susceptible gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, together with anaerobic microorganisms and/or protozoa.
It is used for infectious and inflammatory processes in the organs of the abdomen and biliary tract, inflammation of the kidneys (pyelonephritis), in the lower urinary tract (cystitis, urethritis), as well as in genital and pelvic infections (endometritis, salpingitis, oophoritis, cervicitis, parametritis, prostatitis, colpitis, orchitis, epididymitis).

Mode of application, course and dosage Combiflox

Take orally one hour before meals or two hours after meals, drinking enough water. The pill should not be broken, chewed, or destroyed. The recommended dose is one tablet twice a day for seven to ten days.

For chronic renal insufficiency (see Figure: Ophloxacin dose calculation): Creatinine 50 to 20 mL/min has 200 mg once every 24 hours, creatinine has a clearance of less than 20 mL/min, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis has 200 mg once every 48 hours.

For liver failure, maximum daily dose is two tablets (400 mg of ofloxacin).
