Release form Depanthol:

Structure Depanthol:

dexpanthenol 100 mg
chlorhexidine bigluconate solution 20% 85.2 mg,
which corresponds to the content of chlorhexidine bigluconate 16 mg
Excipients: a mixture of macrogols (macrogol 400 - 2%, macrogol 1500 - 98%).

Pharmacological properties Depanthol:

Combined drug for topical use in gynecology, which has a regenerating, antimicrobial, metabolic effect.
Chlorhexidine is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Treponema pallidum, Chlamydia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacteroides fragilis, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.; yeast, dermatophytes, protozoa (Trichomonas vaginalis). Some strains of Pseudomonas spp., Proteus spp. Are weakly sensitive to chlorhexidine, as well as acid-fast forms of bacteria, bacterial spores.
Dexpanthenol stimulates the regeneration of mucous membranes, normalizes cellular metabolism, accelerates mitosis and increases the strength of collagen fibers.
Depantol® does not interfere with the functional activity of lactobacilli. Remains active (albeit somewhat reduced) in the presence of blood, pus.

Indications for use Depanthol:

For treatment:

treatment of acute and chronic vaginitis;
bacterial vaginosis;
endo- / exocervicitis;
true erosions of the cervix of a specific etiology (as part of complex therapy).
Prevention of infectious and inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology:

before surgical treatment of gynecological diseases;
before delivery;
before medical termination of pregnancy;
before intrauterine examinations (including hysteroscopy, hysterosalpingography);
before installing an intrauterine contraceptive.
To improve the regeneration of the vaginal mucosa and cervix:

after destructive methods of treatment (including diathermocoagulation, cryodestruction, laser destruction);
in the postoperative period;
in the postpartum period.
Mode of application
Applied intravaginally. Before use, the suppository should be freed from the contour packaging.
Enter 1 suppository 2 times / day for 7-10 days. If necessary, it is possible to extend the course of treatment up to 20 days.
If after treatment there is no improvement, or symptoms worsen, or new symptoms appear, you should consult your doctor. The drug should be used only according to the indications, the method of administration and the doses indicated in the instructions for use.

Contraindications Depanthol:

hypersensitivity to drug components.

Side effects Depanthol:

Allergic reactions: possible rash, itching. Chlorhexidine, in very rare cases, can cause hypersensitivity reactions, including severe allergic reactions and anaphylaxis.
Local reactions: burning sensation is possible.

special instructions Depanthol:

If side effects appear, you should stop using the drug and consult a doctor.
During the period of treatment, it is recommended to refrain from sexual intercourse.
Hands should be washed before and after using the drug.

Drug interactions Depanthol:


As a precaution against possible interactions (antagonism or inactivation), it should not be used concomitantly with other antiseptics administered intravaginally.
Depantol® is incompatible with detergents containing an anionic group (including saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethylcellulose) and soaps if they are administered intravaginally.
Simultaneous use with iodine-containing preparations used intravaginally is not recommended.
If it is necessary to use the above or other drugs (including over-the-counter), the patient should consult a doctor before using Depantol®.
