Instructions for Esteretta (drospirenone, estetrol) tablets

Description Esteretta

Esteretta are hormonal tablets in the form of round, biconvex, pale pink, film-coated tablets. On one side of the tablet is a logo in the form of a drop.

Pharmacological effect Esteretta

Esteretta relates to combined hormonal contraceptives (CGCs) and contains two active components: the progestogen drospirenone and estrogen estetrol. The drug is used to prevent unwanted pregnancies when taken by mouth.

Drospirenone acts like a natural human progesterone, suppressing ovulation through a feedback mechanism and reducing the pituitary gland’s secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH). Estrogen, in turn, inhibits follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) production, but its main role in CGCs is to maintain endometrial health and control the menstrual cycle. Estetrol, which is identical to the natural hormone produced by the human fetus's liver during pregnancy, is also included.

It is important to remember that when used correctly, combination hormonal contraceptives (CGCs) are considered one of the most reliable and reversible methods of contraception. However, their use may increase the risk of clotting in the veins and arteries, especially in the first year of use or when they resume use after a long break (more than four weeks).

If you notice symptoms of thrombosis, contact your doctor immediately.

Purpose:

It is used for contraception in women over 18 years of age.
Instructions for the use and dosage of Esteretta
Always strictly follow the doctor's recommendations when using the drug. If in doubt, consult your doctor.

How to take Esteretta

Each package of Esterett contains 28 tablets, divided into 4 groups:
24 light pink tablets containing hormones (1-24).
4 white placebo pills, hormone-free (25-28).

Reception start Esteretta:

Take the first light pink pill (hormonal) from the upper left corner of the blister.
Stick the self-adhesive strip with the name of the day of the week on the blister. Make sure that the gray column of the bar starts from the day of the week when you start receiving.
Each day of the week will correspond to a number of tablets on the label. This will help you control the drug.

Receive Mode Esteretta:

Take one tablet daily at about the same time with a little water.
Follow the arrows on the blister: first take all the light pink hormonal pills, then the white placebo pills.

Attention!

If you notice any of these signs or symptoms, seek urgent medical attention.
