Pharmacological effect Fluditec
carbocysteine is based on its ability to activate sialic transferase, an enzyme found in the goblet cells of the bronchial mucosa. This results in a normalized ratio of acidic to neutral sialomucins in bronchial secretions. Carbocysteine reduces the viscosity of secretions and facilitates the passage of sputum and mucus, which helps decrease cough. It also promotes mucosal regeneration, activates the ciliary epithelium and restores specific and non-specific protection of the membrane.
Indication Fluditec
Carbocysteine is used to treat acute and chronic bronchopulmonary and ENT disease, which can cause difficult-to-drain sputum and mucus (eg, tracheitis, bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, asthma, bronchiectasis), and inflammatory disorders of the middle ear and nose (rhinitis, otitis media, sinusitis). Carbocysteine can also be used to prepare patients for bronchoscopy or bronchography.
Method of application
Carbocysteine is given by mouth. The recommended daily dose for adults is 2.25 g, which can be reduced to 1.5 g after clinical response. Dosage for children depends on their age and the form of the drug. Carbocysteine treatment should last no more than 8 days without consultation.
