Description Gelangin Nova:

Local use solution in the form of a clear, colourless or slightly coloured liquid with a characteristic menthol odor.

Auxiliary substances: propylene glycol - 100 mg, ethanol 95% - 43.33 mg (in terms of anhydrous), polysorbate 20 - 10 mg, levomentol - 0.7 mg, citric acid anhydrous - 0.64 mg, sodium saccharinate - 0.6 mg, eucalyptol - 0.2 mg, 1M solution of sodium hydroxide - up to pH 4.0-7.0, water d/i - up to 1 ml.

Method of use, course and dosage:

Children between three and six years old
The use of the preparation is possible after consultation with a medical professional. In children, the drug can be used from the age when there is no danger of uncontrolled ingestion when applying the solution.

Adults and children over six years of age
Fill the measuring cup to 15 ml and rinse the mouth and larynx 15 ml of undiluted solution for at least 30 seconds 2-3 times/day.

Hexaethidine is adhesively bonded to the mucous membrane and therefore has a persistent effect. Therefore, the drug should be used after eating.

Gelangin® new drug, solution for local use, can be used only for mouthwash and larynx. The solution cannot be swallowed.

Always use an undiluted solution.
In the treatment of oral diseases, the drug can also be applied with a tampon for two to three minutes.
Duration of treatment is determined by the doctor.

Use in children
In children, the drug can be used from the age when there is no danger of uncontrolled ingestion when applying the solution.

Use under 3 years of age is contraindicated.

Pharmacological effect Gelangin Nova:

The antimicrobial effect of the preparation is connected with suppression of oxidative reactions of bacteria metabolism (thiamine antagonist). The preparation has a wide spectrum of antibacterial and antifungal activity, in particular with respect to gram-positive bacteria and fungi of the genus Candida, the preparation can also have an effect in the treatment of infections caused, for example, by Pseudomonas aeruginosa or Proteus spp. In the concentration of one hundred mg/ml, the drug suppresses most strains of bacteria. Sustainability has not been observed. Hexaethidine has a mild anesthetic effect on the mucosa. The preparation has an antiviral effect against influenza A viruses, respiratory syncytial virus (RS virus), herpes simplex virus type 1, which infect the respiratory tract.
