Pharmacological effect Gluconorm:
- Gluconorm® is a fixed combination of two oral hypoglycemic agents of different pharmacological groups: metformin and glybenclamide.
- Metformin belongs to the biguanide group and reduces serum glucose levels by increasing the sensitivity of peripheral tissues to insulin and enhancing glucose uptake. Reduces carbohydrate absorption in the gastrointestinal tract and inhibits gluconeogenesis in the liver. The drug also has a beneficial effect on the lipid profile of the blood, reducing the level of total cholesterol. LDL and triglycerides. It does not cause hypoglycemic reactions.
- Glybenclamide belongs to the group of sulfonyl urea derivatives of generation II. The invention stimulates insulin secretion by reducing the glucose irritation threshold of pancreatic β cells, increases insulin sensitivity and the degree of insulin binding to target cells, increases insulin release, increases the insulin effect on glucose uptake by muscles and liver, and inhibits lipolysis in adipose tissue. It is active in the second phase of insulin secretion.
