Pharmachologic effect Hepazolon
The pharmacological action of a preparation is determined by the properties of the components thereof. Heparin, which is included in the composition, inhibits the formation of blood clots and prevents blood clotting in the hemorrhoids, has an anti-edematous effect, promotes healing and reduces disease recurrences. Heparin inhibits clotting reactions and fibrin thrombi. At this dosage, heparin combined with plasma antithrombin III inhibits thrombosis and deactivates factor Xa and also prevents prothrombin from becoming thrombin. Heparin prevents formation of a stable fibrin thrombus by inhibiting activation of fibrin-stabilizing factor. Heparin also has anti-inflammatory effects on vascular endothelium, inhibiting edema.
Prednisone, part of the intermediate-acting group of synthetic corticosteroids, reduces production, release, and activity of inflammatory mediators (histamine, kinin, prostaglandin, lysosomal enzymes). It inhibits cell migration to the site of inflammation, reduces vasodilation and increased vascular permeability in the site of inflammation, and reduces exudation through a vasoconstrictive action. Prednisone inhibits the action of macrophages, target cells, and cytokines on which allergic reactions depend. It also interferes with access of sensitized T cells and macrophages to target cells. Prednisone has anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative and anti-allergic action, reduces inflammation and associated subjective sensations (itching, burning, pain, feeling of humidity due to eczematous changes) in the anorectal area.
Lidocaine has a local anesthetic effect, which is caused by blocking of voltage-dependent sodium channels, which prevents the generation of impulses at the endings of sensory nerves and the passage of pain impulses through the nerve fibers. The combined action of all components of the preparation achieves the best effect.

Method of use, course and dosage Hepazolon
For internal hemorrhoids, injection of a suppository into the rectum 1 or 2 times a day is recommended. In external hemorrhoids, the suppository should not be completely inserted into the anus so that its base is felt externally. It is important to retain the anus with gauze until it dissolves completely (about 2 to 3 minutes) to avoid inadvertent retraction into the rectum without benefit of treatment.
Treatment takes 7 days. The course can be extended to 14 days at the recommendation of the doctor.
