International Nonproprietary Name (INN): Ketoprofen.

Dosage form: Gel for external use.

Pharmacological effect Ketonal:

Ketoprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effects. Blocks the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which reduces prostaglandin production. It also inhibits the activity of lipooxygenase, reduces bradykinin synthesis, maintains the stability of lysosomal membranes and prevents the release of enzymes involved in the inflammatory process. Ketoprofen does not negatively affect articular cartilage.

Indications for use ketoprofen:

Relief of symptoms of painful and inflammatory conditions of various origins: rheumatoid and periarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (Bechterew's disease), psoriatic arthritis, reactive arthritis (Reiter syndrome), osteoarthrosis, tendinitis, bursitis.
Muscle pain (myalgia), neuralgia, radiculitis.
Musculoskeletal injuries, including sports injuries: bruises, sprains, tears of ligaments and tendons.

Method of application and dosage:

The gel is applied to the skin two to three times a day. The course of treatment without a doctor's consultation should not exceed fourteen days.

Contraindications ketoprofen Ketonal:

Hypersensitivity to ketoprofen or other NSAIDs.
Skin diseases in the application area.
Pregnancy (third trimester), lactation period.
Childhood (up to 12 years).
Skin breakdown at the application site.

Special instructions ketoprofen:

Avoid gel contact with eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds. If skin reactions occur, stop use and seek medical advice.
