Pharmacological effect Lavacol
Osmotic laxative. A highly molecular substance, long linear polymers that are able to hold water molecules with hydrogen bonds. Increases osmotic pressure and the volume of liquid contained in the intestine, strengthening the peristalsis. Increases the volume of himus, prevents the loss of electrolytes with caloric masses. Restores escape reflex, does not change himus pH.
The action of the drug is based on the combination of a high molecular weight polymer with an isotonic solution of electrolytes. Macrogol prevents water from being absorbed from the stomach and intestines and facilitates the accelerated evacuation of intestinal contents by frequent defecations. Electrolytes contained in the preparation prevent the violation of the body's electrolyte balance.

Method of use, course and dosage Lavacol
The drug is taken inside. The drug can be used only in adult patients.
Preparation for endoscopic or X-ray examination of the colon and for operative interventions
The drug is taken on an empty stomach. The contents of the package (14 g) are dissolved in 200-250 ml of water immediately before use.
When prescribing a procedure (study or operative intervention) for the first half of the day (up to 12 h), the solution should be taken the night before - at the rate of 15 packets (approximately 200-250 ml) with an interval of 20 minutes. The recommended hours for taking the drug are 17 hours to 22 hours.
If the procedure is scheduled for the afternoon (after 12 h), the intake of the solution should be divided into 2 stages (the evening before the patient takes the solution at the rate of 10 packets and 5 packets in the morning). Recommended reception hours: on the eve of the procedure 19-22 hours (10 bags), in the morning before the procedure from 6 to 9 hours (5 bags).
The treatment should be completed 3-4 hours before the procedure. Only liquid food is consumed during and after the intake. After 22 hours, the meal is not shown.
Symptomatic treatment of constipation in adults
The contents of each package should be dissolved in a glass of water immediately before being taken. 1 packet in the morning or 1 packet in the morning and evening if two packets per day are received. Daily dose should adapt according to the clinical effect of two packets per day.
The effect of taking the drug is pronounced within 24-28 hours after taking it. The recommended course of treatment is one month.
Maintaining the effect after normal bowel operation is restored should be done through an active lifestyle and diet rich in plant fibre. If constipation symptoms persist for more than 1 month, an extended diagnostic test should be repeated.
