Choline alfoscerate is a central-acting cholinomymetic with a predominant effect on the central nervous system. The drug contains 40.5% choline, released from the compound in the brain; choline is involved in the biosynthesis of acetylcholine (one of the major nerve mediators).

Method of use and doses Choline alfoscerate
The preparation is administered intramuscularly or intravenously (drip, slow).
Adults. Intramuscularly or intravenously in a dose of 1000 mg (1 ampoule) per day. When intravenously introduced, the contents of one ampoule (four ml) are diluted in fifty ml of 0.9% chloride sodium solution, an infusion rate of sixty - eighty drops per minute.
