Pharmacological effect Midiana

Mydiana® is a combination oral contraceptive drug containing estrogen and gestagen. Its effectiveness is ensured by several mechanisms, including suppression of ovulation and changes in the endometrium that make implantation of the fertilized egg difficult. Properly applied, the Pearl index (number of pregnancies per 100 women per year) is less than 1. However, if tablets are missed or if people do not take their pills regularly, this figure may increase.

Menstrual cycles become more regular and menstrual-like bleeding decreases in intensity and duration, decreasing the risk of iron deficiency anemia in women taking ®. The progestogen component of drospirenone has little antiandrogenic effect, helping to reduce acne and seborrhea. It also exhibits mild antimineralocorticoid properties that prevent weight gain and associated edema caused by fluid retention.

Clinical studies suggest that the antimineralocorticoid effect of drospirenone is negligible, but it does not have estrogen, glucocorticoid, or antiglucocorticoid effects. This makes its pharmacological profile similar to that of natural progesterone. This is particularly important for women with hormone-dependent fluid retention and for acne and seborrhea, which require a contraceptive with a mild effect on hormonal balance.

Indications Midiana

This drug is intended for oral contraception.

Mode of application, course and dosage Midiana

Take the pills at the same time every day, following the pattern on the package. Burn each pill with a little water.
Take one tablet daily for 21 days without breaks. Then take a seven-day break during which menstrual-like bleeding (withdrawal bleeding) can occur. It usually begins 2-3 days after the last pill and can continue until the next pill is started.
Starting a new package, do so on the same day of the week so that undo bleeding occurs at about the same time each month.
Starting the drug (unless hormonal contraceptives were used in the previous month):
Start taking Medians® on the first day of the menstrual cycle (the first day of menstrual discharge).
An additional barrier contraceptive method (eg, a condom) can be started on day 2 to 5 of a cycle but is recommended for the first 7 days.
