Normax pharmachologic effect:
Normax (Normax) - a drug for topical use in ophthalmic and ENT practice. The drug contains an active ingredient - norfloxacin - a drug with antimicrobial effect. The drug has bactericidal activity against gram-positive and gram-negative aerobic bacteria.
The drug is not effective for infectious diseases caused by anaerobic bacteria. Strains of Enterococcus and Acinetobacter are insensitive to the action of the drug.
When applied topically, the drug creates high concentrations in the tissues of the eye or ear. Systemic absorption of norfloxacin was not observed with Normax .
Normax Indications for use:
The drug Normax is used to treat patients suffering from infectious eye diseases, including keratitis, keratoconjunctivitis, blepharitis, conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers.
The drug is also prescribed to patients suffering from various forms of otitis externa and otitis media.
The drug is prescribed to patients who have undergone surgery, removal of a foreign body, or trauma to the ear or eye, to prevent infection.
Normax Mode of application:
The drug is intended for instillation into the eye or ear. Wash your hands thoroughly before using Normax . In severe infectious diseases, the drug is recommended to be used in combination with antimicrobial agents for oral or parenteral use. The duration of the course of treatment and the dose of the drug are determined by the attending physician individually for each patient.
In acute infectious diseases of the eyes, 1-2 drops of the drug are usually prescribed with an interval of 15-30 minutes, after which the interval between applications of the drug is gradually increased, depending on the dynamics of the disease.
With infectious eye diseases of moderate severity, 1-2 drops of the drug are usually prescribed from 2 to 6 times a day.
Patients with acute or chronic trachoma are usually prescribed 2 drops of the drug in each eye 2 to 4 times a day. The duration of the course of treatment may exceed 1-2 months.
Patients with infectious diseases of the outer and middle ear are usually prescribed 2-3 drops of the drug 4 to 6 times a day. In the acute period, it is allowed to use a single dose of the drug with an interval of 2-3 hours until the condition improves
