Pharmacological effect Novynette

Combined oral contraceptives (COCs) prevent pregnancy through their combined effect on the body. The main mechanisms include suppressing ovulation, increasing the viscosity of mucus in the cervix, and creating a barrier to sperm. Novinet® is a drug that contains desogestrel (a synthetic progestogen) and ethinyl estradiol (a synthetic estrogen). Desogestrel effectively inhibits ovulation, and ethinyl estradiol maintains hormonal balance. When used correctly, the Perl index (contraceptive effectiveness index) is less than 1. However, people who are not taking the drugs are at increased risk of having an unwanted pregnancy. Women who take COC note a regular menstrual cycle and reduced pain and bleeding, which help prevent iron deficiency anemia.

Indications for use ethinylestradiol

Oral contraception.

Indications for use, course and dosage of the drug Novynette

The drug is taken by mouth. The recommended dose is one tablet per day for 21 days. The pill should be taken at about the same time every day with a small amount of water. It is important to strictly observe the reception procedure specified on the package.

After the 21-day course is completed, a seven-day break is required. During this period, menstrual-like bleeding, known as withdrawal bleeding, usually begins. It usually begins on the second or third day after the last active pill is taken and continues until a new course is started.

To maintain a regular menstrual cycle, it is recommended that each new course be started on the same day of the week. This will ensure monthly "withdrawal bleeding" at about the same time.

Beginning of the drug Novynette®

If you have not previously used hormonal contraceptives within a month, it is recommended that you start taking the drug on the first day of your menstrual cycle (the first day of menstrual bleeding). It can also be started on the second to fifth day of a cycle, but for the first seven days an additional barrier method should be used.

If switching from other combination hormonal contraceptives (pills, vaginal rings, or transdermal patch), Novinet® is recommended to be started the day after the previous course is completed. If you have used a 21-tablet product, start taking Novinet® the day after the last active tablet. If you had a 28-pill preparation, start the day after the last inactive pill.

If switching from a vaginal ring or transdermal patch, begin taking the drug the day it is removed. It is important not to exceed the recommended interval between hormone-free contraceptive methods.
