ATX codes
A02BC01 Omeprazole

Clinical and pharmacological groups / Group affiliation
An H+-K+-ATP-ase inhibitor. Antiulcer drug

Active ingredient

  • omeprazole

Pharmacological properties Ortanol

Omeprazole acts as an H+-K+-ATP-ase inhibitor, reducing this enzyme's activity in parietal gastric cells. This inhibits the final step of hydrochloric acid secretion, which leads to a reduction in both basal and stimulated secretion, regardless of the irritant type. Decreased acid secretion leads to decreased or normalized esophageal exposure in patients with reflux esophagitis.

Omeprazole is also bactericidal on Helicobacter pylori. Combined use of omeprazole and antibiotics contributes to rapid elimination of H. pylori, allowing rapid symptom reduction, marked healing of mucosal injury, and prolonged remission, reducing the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding.

Testimony omeprazole

The drug is used for exacerbation of peptic ulcer disease of the stomach and duodenum (including cases associated with Helicobacter pylori), reflux esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and for erosive-ulcerative lesions caused by NSAIDs.

Method of application, dosage Ortanol

Dosage is selected individually. The recommended single dose is 20 to 40 mg, daily 20 to 80 mg; use 1 to 2 times a day for 2 to 8 weeks.
