Pharmacological action of the drug Pyrantel:
Anthelmintic agent, causes neuromuscular blockade of sensitive helminths, ascaris. It is active against Enterobius vermicularis, Ancylostoma duodenale, Necator americanus and, to a lesser extent, Trichocephalus trichiurus. Acts on both sexually mature worms and immature worms and individuals of both sexes.
Pharmacokinetics of the drug Anthelmintic Pyrantel:
The drug is practically not absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract. After taking pyranetel a single dose of 10 mg / kg, the plasma concentration is 0.005-0.13 μg / ml and is achieved within one to three hours
It is metabolized partially in the liver to N-methyl-1,3-propanediamine. It is excreted unchanged through the intestines (about 93%), 7% is excreted by the kidneys unchanged or as a metabolite.
From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, increased activity of hepatic transaminases.
From the side of the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system: headache, hallucinations, confusion, paresthesia, dizziness, drowsiness or insomnia.
Dermatological reactions: skin rash, urticaria.
Others: hearing impairment, hyperthermia.

Use with caution in liver failure.
After taking Anthelmintic, laxatives are not prescribed.
With enterobiasis, simultaneous treatment of all persons living together should be carried out. After completion of treatment, it is necessary to conduct a control study of feces for the presence of parasite eggs.
It is prescribed with caution to children under 6 months of age.
In case of liver dysfunction
Use with caution in liver failure.
Application during pregnancy and lactation Pyrantel:
The anthelmintic is contraindicated for use during pregnancy.
If it is necessary to use an anthelmintic during lactation, the question of stopping breastfeeding should be resolved.
Drug interactions Pyrantel:
Should not be administered concomitantly with piperazine (weakening).
With the simultaneous use of Anthelmintic increases the concentration of theophylline in plasma.
