Instructions for Sanguiritrin
Sanguiritrin Pharmacological properties:
Umma of bisulfates of alkaloids sanguinarine and heletrin produced by plants of the poppy family - heart-shaped mackerel (Macleaya cordata Will. L.) and small-fruited mackerel (M. microcarpa Maxim. Fedde). Both alkaloids contain quaternary nitrogen atoms and are sulfomethylates.
Antimicrobial agent. Suppresses bacterial nuclease and the growth of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeast-like and filamentous fungi. Blocks cholinesterase.
Sanguiritrin Indications:
Locally - infectious and inflammatory diseases of the skin and mucous membranes, wound and burn infections, long-term non-healing wounds and ulcers, endocervicitis, colpitis, vaginitis, cervical erosion, periodontitis, aphthous stomatitis, ulcerative-necrotic gingivostomatitis, diseases of the middle ear and external hearing pyoderma, superficial blastomycosis, dermatomycosis, candidomycosis, onychomycosis.
Systemic use - myopathy, residual effects of poliomyelitis and flaccid paralysis of other etiology (as a cholinesterase inhibitor).
Application:
Locally
Daily treatment of wounds and skin folds in newborns - 0.2% water-alcohol solution; with angina, otitis externa, pyoderma and other skin diseases, infected wounds and ulcers, infected open fractures - 0.01-0.1% water solution.
The drug is applied 1–2 times a day every day or every 1–2 days with dressings.
For the treatment of periodontal disease, turundas are used moistened with 0.2% water-alcohol or 0.01-0.1% water solution, for stomatitis - applications of water solution 2-3 times a day for 2-5 days (in children under 5 years old - 0.005% solution). In gynecology - lotions with 0.005-0.01% warm water solution 1-2 times a day daily (5-10 procedures per course).
The maximum daily dose in adults and children over 5 years old: water-alcohol solution - 15 ml, water solutions - 30 ml; in children under 5 years of age, the maximum rate of water-alcohol solution is 10 ml, water solutions - 20 ml.
As an anticholinesterase agent, it is prescribed orally after meals (in the form of tablets): adults - 5-10 mg 2 times a day, children - depending on age, but not more than 1 mg / day for 1 year of life in 2 doses.
Contraindications Sanguiritrin:
For external use - fungal infections with symptoms of eczematization; for oral administration - epilepsy, hyperkinesis, asthma, angina pectoris, hepatic and / or renal failure.
Sanguiritrin Side effects:
A burning sensation or soreness when applied to the wound surface (eliminated by adding 0.5% solution of procaine); nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain after ingestion.
