Instructions for SULFACYL SODIUM-SOLOFARM (Sulfacetamide) eye drops
SULFACYL SODIUM-SOLOFARM Pharmacological properties:
Antimicrobial drug of the sulfonamide group. Has a bacteriostatic effect against streptococci, gonococci, pneumococci, colibacilli.
Due to the similarity in chemical structure with PABA, it disrupts the formation of growth factors necessary for their development in microorganisms - folic and dihydrofolic acids.
When applied topically, it penetrates into the tissues and fluids of the eye. It is absorbed into the systemic circulation through the inflamed conjunctiva.
SULFACYL SODIUM-SOLOFARM Indications:
- Blepharitis
- conjunctivitis
- keratitis
- purulent corneal ulcers and other infectious eye diseases
- prevention of blenorrhea in newborns
Application:
To open the dropper tube, turn the cap until it completely separates from the body. Instill 2-3 drops 5-6 times a day into the conjunctival sac of the affected eye by lightly pressing on the walls of the dropper tube. For the prevention of blenorrhea in newborns, 2 drops are instilled into both eyes immediately after birth and 2 drops after 2 hours.
Contraindications:
A history of toxic-allergic reactions to sulfonamides.
SULFACYL SODIUM-SOLOFARM Side effects:
Sometimes, irritation of the eye tissues in the form of burning or hyperemia may be noted.

sulfacetamide, when applied topically, is incompatible with silver salts.
