Pharmacological effect
Said preparation exhibits the properties of antiviral and immunostimulating agents for producing interferons. Thylorone activates the synthesis of various types of interferons (alpha, beta, gamma, and lambda) in humans. The primary cells that produce interferon are the epithelial cells of the intestine, hepatocytes, T cells, neutrophils, and granulocytes.
After oral dosing, most interferon is synthesized in the following order: intestine, liver, blood, within 4 to 24 hours. Thylorone has both immunomodulatory and antiviral effects, activating interferon synthesis in white blood cells and promoting bone marrow stem cell activity, leading to increased antibody production. It also helps decrease immunodepression and normalize the ratio between T suppressor cells and T helper cells.
