Pharmacological effect Vartocid
Imichimod is a drug designed for external use that modifies the body's immune response. It is important to note that it has no direct antiviral effect. It is based on induction of interferon alfa, tumor necrosis factor, and other cytokines. Said medicinal agent externally reduces angiogenesis processes by activating interleukin-18 and interferon gamma production.
Testimony Vartocid

External application. It is recommended to apply the drug at bedtime and leave it on the skin for 6-10 hours. The cream should be applied in a thin layer only on the cleaned affected skin areas and gently rubbed until fully absorbed. Do not cover the treated area with dressings. Avoid excessive use of the cream. After the specified time, the cream should be washed off with warm water and soap having a neutral pH value.

The maximum area of application is 25 cm2, which corresponds to the maximum dose of the drug - 250 mg. It should be given once a day, three times a week (eg, Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) until genital or perianal genital warts have completely disappeared, but not more than 16 weeks.
If the patient has missed the scheduled cream application, it should be done as soon as possible and then return to the usual treatment schedule. The cream should not be used more than once a day.
