Composition Vilpramycine Sar
One tablet contains:
Active substance:
josamycin propionate - 1067.66 mg (equivalent to 1000 mg of josamycin).
Pharmacological effect josamycin
The drug is an antibacterial macrolide that has an antibacterial effect. The mechanism of action is to impair protein synthesis in the microbial cell by reversible binding to the 50S subunit of the ribosome. At therapeutic concentrations, the drug usually has a bacteriostatic effect, slowing the growth and reproduction of bacteria. At high concentrations in the inflammation center bactericidal effect is possible.
Jozamicin is active against a wide range of organisms, including
Gram-positive bacteria (Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Listeria monocytogenes, etc.)
gram-negative bacteria (Neisseria meningitidis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Haemophilus influenzae, Helicobacter pylori, etc.),
some species of Chlamydia, Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, Treponema pallidum, Borrelia burgdorferi.
The drug is less active against enterobacteria and has little effect on gastrointestinal (GI) microflora. It is occasionally active against erythromycin and other 14- and 15-cell macrolides. Resistance to josamycin is less common than with other macrolides.

Mode of application and dose Vilpramycine Sar
Before taking the tablet, it is necessary to dissolve in a small volume of water (at least 50 ml), mix thoroughly until a homogeneous suspension is obtained. The resulting suspension should be taken immediately after cooking. If you want to divide the daily dose into two doses, the rest of the slurry can be stored at 2 to 8° C until the next dose.
For adults and adolescents over fourteen years of age, the recommended daily dose is one to two grams of jozamycin. It should be divided into two or three sessions. The dose can be increased to 3 grams per day if needed.
For one-year-old children with a mean body weight of about 10 kg, dosage is calculated individually.
