White or almost white oral tablets, round, slightly double-convex, with a mint odour; dark dyeing is permitted.

Pharmacological effect sildenafil

Selective inhibitor of cycloguanosine monophosphate (cGMF)-specific PDE5. PDE5, which is responsible for the breakdown of cGMF, is found not only in the penile cavity but also in the lung vessels.

Restores erectile dysfunction and provides a natural response to sexual arousal. Sildenafil does not have a direct relaxing effect on the cavernous body, but actively enhances the relaxing effect of nitric oxide on this tissue. In sexual arousal, local release of sildenafil-induced NO leads to suppression of PDE5 and increased levels of cGMF in the cavernous body, resulting in relaxation of smooth muscles and increased blood flow in the cavernous body.
