Albendazol

Release Form
Tablets

Composition Albendazole
1 tablet, covered with film sheath, contains:
active substance: albendazol - 400 mg,
auxiliary substances: monohydrate lactose, microcrystalline cellulose type 101, sodium carboxymethyl starch (sodium starch glycolate), cornstarch, K30 povidon, sodium lauryl sulfate, silicon dioxide colloidal (aerosyl), sodium croskarmellosis, magnesium stearate,
Auxiliary substances for the shell: hypromellose (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose), macrogol 6000 (polyethylene glycol 6000), titanium dioxide.

Pharmacological effect Albendazole

Anti-helmintic and anti-acid agent

Albendazole belongs to the carbamatbenzimidazole group.
The mechanism of action of albendazole is its ability to disrupt the activity of the microtubular system of cells of the intestinal channel of helminths, while causing damage to the tubulin protein. The result is biochemical disturbances in the cell: the suppression of glucose transport and fumaratreductase, which is the basis of the suppression of cell division at the stage of metaphase, and which is associated with the suppression of egg laying and the development of helminths larvae.
Albendazole blocks the movement of secretory granules and other organelles in the muscle cells of roundworms, causing their death.

Albendazole is effective in most intestinal nematodes, as well as larval (larval) forms of cestod, as well as lamblium. Albendazole as an antiparasitic drug has a fairly wide spectrum of action.

Pharmacokinetics Albendazole
Suction

After ingestion, the drug is poorly adsorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, and is not permanently defined in blood plasma. Bioavailability is low when ingested. Eating oily foods increases absorption and maximum concentration by 5 times.
Albendazole rapidly converts into the liver as a primary metabolite, albendazole sulfoxide, which also has an antihelmintic activity.

Testimony Albendazole

Nematodoses:

  • ascaridosis, arousal - Ascaris lumbricoidesl round helminths,
  • Trichocephalesis (Vlacanthus), arousal - Trichocephalus trichiurus round helminths,
  • enterobiosis (oysters), arousal - Enterobius vermicularis round helminth,
  • ankylostomidoses (head), exciters - Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus,
  • trichinellosis, causative agent - Trichinella spiralis,
  • toxocarosis, causative agent - Toxocara canis,
  • lambliosis, excitatory - Giardia intestinalis,
  • Strogiloidosis (intestinal acne), the causative agent - Strongiloides strcoralis round helminthas, and mixed invases.
  • Tissue Cestodises:
  • neurocysticercosis, causative agent - Cysticercus cellulosus, larval stage of the ribbon parasite of the pig chain,
  • hydatidotic echinococcosis of the liver, lungs of the abdomen caused by the larval form of the canine tapeworm (Echinococcus granulosus),
  • The drug is also used as an aid for surgical treatment of alveolar echinococcosis, and the causative agent is Echinococcus multilocularis.

Method of use and doses Albendazole

The drug is taken internally, during or after ingestion. Special training and diet is not required.
The dose of the preparation is set individually, depending on the type of infusion, the weight of the patient's body. The maximum daily dose is 800 mg.

In children, high doses of albendazole should be avoided for a long time if possible.
In the case of nematodoses (including ascaridosis, trichocephalosis, necatorosis), albendazole is administered once to patients with a body mass of 60 kg or more, 400 mg per day, and once to patients with a body mass of less than 60 kg, 15 mg/kg of body mass, or in two doses.
