Reduces catecholamine-stimulated formation of cAMP from ATP. In the first 24 hours after oral administration, a reactive increase in the total peripheral resistance of the vessels is observed against the background of a reduction in cardiac ejection, the expression of which decreases gradually over a period of one to three days.

If the hypotensive effect is not sufficiently expressed, the dose is increased to 100 mg per dose. A further increase in the dose is not recommended, as it does not have an increased clinical effect.
Angina. The initial dose is fifty mg/day. If the optimum therapeutic effect is not achieved within a week, the dose is increased to one hundred mg/day. Patients of old age and patients with disorders of the excretory function of the kidneys need correction of the dosing regime.
