Foods That Are Good for Your Liver
Foods That Are Good for Your Liver
One of the negative consequences of poor nutrition is problems with digestion. Eating heavy and harmful foods, not eating regularly, and eating frequent snacks on the go can lead to gastrointestinal disorders. The liver, which is the first to take the hit, is particularly affected.
The main "chemical laboratory" of the body
The liver is a truly unique organ. Had it not been for its ceaseless work, the human age would have ended much earlier than the wise nature envisaged. The liver cleans toxins from cells and organs, passing through itself as through a powerful natural filter, and actively neutralizing all harmful slag and poisons entering our body. In adults, the liver is one of the most important organs responsible for high-quality hematopoiesis.
When we lead a far from healthy lifestyle, the load on the liver increases many times over, but it continues to save our bodies until its last vital resources are exhausted. If this happens, the patient's life ends. A person can live after resection of the stomach or intestines, without a single lung or kidney, but it is impossible to remove a part of the liver: this organ must be whole. Liver transplantation may be the only way out, but its frequency is inferior even to heart transplantation.
Cirrhosis, pancreatitis and other medical passions are probably someone else's story, not threatening us personally. Why choose healthy foods for your menu when all the organs are in order or at least not yet in any way declare their own disadvantage? And the spoiled stomach continues to "rejoice" in excess of fats, sweets, smoked meat, fast food and alcohol... Stop! And what is our liver experiencing at this time? We draw conclusions and put your body in order!
Products for the benefit of the liver: choose correctly
Non-oily fish and meat
Because meat is a very heavy diet, HLS recipes suggest substituting fish and seafood for it. For these purposes, perch, carp, hake, trout, cod, salmon, herring, halibut and other useful representatives of the fishing world are perfect. Well, if you really want meat - occasionally you can afford turkey, chicken, low-fat pork or young veal, but cooked in a baked or steamed - and exclusively modest portions.
Eggs, milk, and fermented milk products
The menu with them is certainly useful for the body. In this case, you need to eat milk separately, in no case not drinking them solid food. Cheeses are recommended to eat mild (ideally - Adygea cheese), and cottage cheese - with a low fat content. Curdled milk, yogurt and natural yogurts can and should be drunk daily, although, if there are problems with the liver, it is better to still prefer ungreasy yogurt and curdled milk. As for eggs - the best option for their preparation is to brew or bake omelet. By the way, the traditional recipe for preparing omelet on milk is not useful for the body, nutritionists advise to use for this purpose low-fat sour cream or fatty cream: so food is better and easier to absorb stomach and liver.
Vegetables, fruits and greens
Products of this "green" category provide the liver with necessary vitamins, as well as useful macro- and micronutrients. Parsley and dill, pumpkin and courgettes, tomatoes, cucumbers and beets, carrots and various types of cabbage - all this will certainly benefit your liver, if grown on healthy, not oversaturated with chemicals, soil. A successful replacement for the usual "heavy" sandwiches will be bananas, apples, prunes, dried apricots and raisins of any varieties, and finally "fertilize" the gentle liver will help a generous spoon of natural fresh honey.
Soups and porridge
Soups help to maintain the liver in optimal tone (we are talking about vegetable dishes, not fat and cooked Ukrainian borscht!), which can be prepared using both rubbed and diced ingredients. The second option is preferable because it helps to stimulate the stomach and intestines. Low-fat vegetable stew and fresh salads flavored with cold-pressed vegetable oil are also beneficial. For porridge suitable for any solid cereals: buckwheat, oat, millet, etc. Porridges must be present in healthy diets because they are rich sources of protein, amino acids, and complex carbohydrates. And oatmeal also has high adsorbing properties, helping the liver to successfully cope with poisons and toxins.
Oil
In addition to the olive, sunflower, soy and other oils known to everyone, nutritionists recommend that we pay attention to amaranth oil - undeservedly forgotten for many years cereal culture. Only 1-2 tsp of amaranth oil added to one portion of salad will be useful for both healthy and weakened gastrointestinal tract. Mustard oil, containing many biologically active substances and vitamins, also has excellent medicinal qualities. The use of margarine in the food is not recommended by experts at all, but the daily presence in the diet of 30 grams (no more) of butter will have to the liver, and the whole body only for the good.
