Pharmaceuticals:

Mukolytic remedy with a harming effect. Reduces the viscosity of the bronchial secret by depolarizing the acid polysaccharides contained therein and stimulating the secret cells of the mucous membrane of the bronches, producing a secret containing neutral polysaccharides. It is believed that Bromhexin contributes to the formation of a surfactant.

Indications:

Respiratory tract diseases accompanied by the formation of a difficult-to-separate viscous secret: tracheobronchitis, chronic bronchitis with bronchobirotic component, bronchial asthma, flu iscidosis, chronic pneumonia.

Method of application, course and dosage:

Inside adults and children over 10 - 8 mg 3-4 times/day. Children under 2 years of age - 2 mg 3 times/day; Between 2 and 6 years - 4 mg 3 times/day; Between 6 and 10 years - 6-8 mg 3 times/day. If necessary, the dose can be increased by adults up to 16 mg 4 times/day, children - up to 16 mg 2 times/day.
Inhalation for adults - 8 mg, children over 10 - 4 mg, aged 6-10 - 2 mg. Under 6 years - used in doses up to 2 mg. Inhalations are carried out 2 times/day.
Therapeutic effect can be shown on 4-6 day of treatment.
Parenteral injection is recommended for treatment in severe cases, as well as in the postoperative period to prevent the accumulation of thick wet in bronches. Injected 2 mg p/c, v/m or v/v 2-3 times/day slowly for 2-3 minutes.

Drug Interaction:

Bromhexin is incompatible with alkaline solutions.

Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding
Contradicted application in I trimester of pregnancy. The use of trimesters of pregnancy in II-III and breastfeeding is possible only when the intended benefit for the mother exceeds the potential risk for the fetus or infant.

Side action:

From the digestive system: dyspeptic phenomena, transient increase in the activity of hepatic transaminases in blood serum.
From the CNS: headache, dizziness.
Dermatological reactions: increased sweating, skin rash.
From the respiratory system: cough, bronchospasm.

Contraindications to use:

Increased Bromhexin sensitivity.

Special instructions:

In case of stomach ulcers, as well as when pointing to gastric bleeding in the history of bromgexin should be used under the supervision of a doctor.
Use with caution in patients suffering from asthma.
Bromgexin is not used at the same time as drugs Bromhexin containing codeine, as it makes it difficult to cough up liquefied sputum.
Applied in the combined preparations of plant origin with essential oils (including with eucalyptus oil, anise oil, peppermint oil, menthol).

Application for kidney disorders
Care should be taken in patients with kidney impairment.

Application for liver disorders
Carefully apply to patients with liver disorders.
