In 1 suppository: chlorhexidine (chlorhexidine) 16 mg.

Pharmacological effect Chlorhexidine

Chlorhexidine does not affect the functional activity of lactobacteria.
Chlorhexidine is an antiseptic preparation for local (intravaginal) use and is active against protozoa, gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and viruses, including Treponem pallidum, Chlamydia spp., Ureaplasma spp., Neisseriya gononhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, Gardnerella vaginalis, Bacterioides fragilis, Herpes type 2.
Some strains of Pseudomonas spp.
Proteus is insensitive to the drug, acid-resistant forms of bacteria and bacteria spores are resistant.

Pharmacokinetics

Systemic absorption in intravaginal application is slight.

  • prevention of infection-inflammatory complications in obstetrics and gynecology (before operative treatment of gynecological diseases,

  • before and after installation of intrauterine helix (IUD), 
  • before and after paterocoagulation of the cervix, before intrauterine studies); treatment of bacterial vaginosis, colpitis (including non-specific, mixed,
  • trichomonade).

Contraindications 

Children's age; increased sensitivity to the components of the drug.

Precautions
With care: pregnancy, lactation period.
Use in pregnancy and breastfeeding
Use during pregnancy and lactation is possible if the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the foetus and the child.

Method of use and doses

Intravaginally. Having previously freed the suppository from the contouring cell package, said suppository is injected into the vagina in a lying position on the back thereof. For treatment: 1 suppository 2 times/day for 7-10 days.
If necessary, treatment may be extended to 20 days.For the prevention of sexually transmitted infections: 1 suppository not later than 2 hours after sexual intercourse.
