Pharmacological effect Cinocap

Dermatoprotective drug. Pyrithione zinc has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal activity. The antibacterial activity of zinc pyrithione is seen in a number of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp. Pyrithione zinc lowers intracellular ATP levels, promotes cell membrane depolarization, and kills fungi and bacteria. Antifungal activity is particularly prominent with Pityrosporum ovale and Pityrosporum orbiculare, which cause inflammation and excessive scaling in dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, and other skin disorders. The mechanism of anti-inflammatory action is unknown.
