Pharmacological effect:
is one of the group of selective β2-adrenomimetics. is a drug that has a rapid broncholytic effect. Its action is caused by specific stimulation of β2 - adrenoreceptors of smooth muscle. By binding to them, adenylate cyclase is activated, leading to increased intracellular concentration of cyclic adenosine monophosphate and activation of proteinkinase A, and depriving myosin of its ability to bind to actin, resulting in bronchial relaxation. Clenbuterol stimulates cells in the mucous membrane of the bronchi and enhances thinning. In prescribed therapeutic doses, clenbuterol does not affect heart rate or blood pressure.
