Gentamicin is an antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group, characterized by a wide spectrum of action. It is active in most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella spp., Salmonella spp., Proteus spp., Serratia spp. Moderately active in Staphylococcus spp.
