Pharmacological effect Diaflex Rompharm:
Diacerein is a derivative of anthraquinoline, a diacetylated derivative of reine. Metabolizing to an active metabolite, reine, inhibits interleukin-1 activity, which plays an important role in the development of inflammation and cartilage degradation in osteoarthrosis.
Diacerein inhibits the action of other cytokines causing inflammation, including interleukin-6, FNO-α. It slows down the synthesis of metalloproteinases (collagenases, elastases) that contribute to the damage of cartilage tissue. When used for a long time, Diacerein stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and does not affect the synthesis of prostaglandins.
The preparation exhibits analgesic and anti-inflammatory activity during oral administration. The action takes two to four weeks.
