Method of use and doses Activated carbon:
In one hour before eating and taking other medicines by drinking water. It is not recommended to use other liquids to avoid the effectiveness of activated carbon. The average dose is 100-200 mg/kg/day (in three doses). Duration of treatment - 3-14 days if necessary, it is possible to repeat the course after 2 weeks. Children are given an average of 50 mg/kg body weight 3 times a day maximum single dose up to 200 mg/kg body weight. Children under 3 years of age and other patients with difficulty swallowing the capsule can be opened to pour the contents of the capsule into a container and diluted with a small amount of water (should not be used for diluting other liquids) and taken as a suspension. Adults are prescribed an average of 10-20 g three to four times a day. Maximum single dose for adults up to 80 g. The course of treatment for acute diseases is 3-5 days for allergic and other chronic diseases - up to 14 days. Follow-up courses may be offered on the recommendation of a doctor. In acute intoxication, the treatment is started by flushing the stomach with 10-20% by a suspension of activated carbon (for which purpose activated carbon in the powder is used for preparing the suspension) and then transferred to oral administration - up to 20-30 g/day. In case of meteorology dyspepsia - 1 -2 g 3-4 times a day. Treatment course 3-7 days. In diseases accompanied by fermentation and rotting processes in the intestines, with increased secretion of gastric juice, adults are prescribed - 8-10 g 3 times a day in between meals for children under 7 years old - 4-5 g 7-14 years old - 5-7 g per meal
Storage Conditions
At temperatures not exceeding 25 °C. Store the contour bin package in a pack of cardboard. Store in a place not accessible to children.
Retention period after opening
2 years. Do not apply after expiry date.
Pharmacological effect Activated carbon:
Enterosorbiting agent. Proves enterosorbiting detoxification and antidiarrheal action. The polyvalent group of physico-chemical antidotes exhibits high surface activity. Adsorbs poisons and toxins from the gastrointestinal tract prior to their absorption, including glycoside alkaloids barbiturates and other sleeping and narcotic means of heavy metal salt toxins of bacterial plant animal origin derived phenol sinyl acid sulfanilamides gases. The drug Extrasorb also adsorbs excess of certain metabolic products - cholesterol urea bilirubin and endogenous metabolites responsible for the development of endogenous toxicosis. Weakly adsorbs acids and alkalis (including iron cyanide salts malathion methanol ethylene glycol). It is active as a sorbent in hemoperfusion. It does not irritate the lining of the gastrointestinal tract.
