Ferrumtabs® is a biologically active food supplement that contains iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid - components involved in hematopoiesis and the synthesis of new cells.
Iron is part of hemoglobin, a protein that carries out the most important body reaction - oxygen transport from the lungs to other organs and tissues of the human body. Ferrumtabs® contains iron in an easily digestible form: in the form of fumarate.
Vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) and folic acid are vitamins necessary for DNA synthesis. Their lack leads to disruption of this process, the suppression of normal cell division, their abnormal maturation and functioning.
Deficiencies in vitamin B12 and folic acid especially affect cells that divide rapidly, such as in the epithelium of the gastrointestinal tract and bone marrow.
Vitamin B12 is necessary for the formation of an active form of folic acid, which leads to their close relationship. When ingested in sufficient quantities, they contribute to improving the absorption of iron from the gastrointestinal tract.
