Pharmacological effect Gepon
Immunomodulating preparation. It has an antiviral effect. The preparation induces α- and β-interferons, mobilizes and activates macrophages, limits the production of cytokines of inflammation (interleukin 1, 6, 8 and the tumor necrosis factor), stimulates the production of antibodies to various antigens of an infectious nature, suppresses the replication of viruses, increases the resistance of the body to infections caused by viruses, bacteria or fungi.

In HIV patients, Hepon reduces HIV concentration in blood cells and plasma, while activating HIV-specific immune responses. In most HIV-infected patients, CD4+ T- and NK-cells increase in content, neutrophils and CD8+ T-cells increase functional activity, which are key elements of the body's defense against bacteria, viruses and fungi, antibodies specific to HIV antigens and antigens of opportunistic infections pathogens increase.
