Description Glycerin

The product is transparent or translucent, almost colourless or with a yellowish-brown colour, with an oiling surface and a hygroscopic, torpedo-like appearance. The suppository may be clouded, the surface layer softened slightly and the contouring package may be thawed. An air rod may be present at the cut.

One suppository contains:
Active substance: glycerol (100% substance) - 2.11 g. Auxiliary substances: sodium stearate - 0.17 g, water purified - 0.35 g.

Pharmacological effect Glycerin

Laxative. When used in the form of rectal suppositories, it softens and lubricates solidified faecal masses and facilitates their passage through the colon. It has an irritating effect on the intestinal mucosa, reflexively stimulating the intestinal motility, initiates the process of defecation, and facilitates the passage and excretion of caloric masses.

Pharmacokinetics glycerol

It is well absorbed through the lining of the rectum.
It is actively metabolized in the liver. It is excreted by the kidneys, 7-14% - in the unchanged form.

Symptomatic treatment of constipation of different etiology when oral laxatives are not possible.

Method of use and doses glycerol

Do not use the drug for more than 7 days.
