Pharmacological effect Groprinosin
Inosine pranobex is a synthetic derivative of purine, and is in the form of a complex containing inosine and N,N-dimethylamino-two-propanol in a molar ratio of 1:3. It has immune-stimulating activity and non-specific antiviral activity. The effectiveness of the complex is determined by the presence of inosine, and a second component increases its availability to lymphocytes.
It restores lymphocyte functions in the conditions of immunodepression, increases blastogenesis in the monocyte population, stimulates expression of membrane receptors on the surface of T-helper cells, prevents decrease of lymphocyte activity under the influence of glucocorticoids, normalizes the inclusion of thymidine in lymphocytes. Inosine pranobex stimulates the activity of T cells and natural killer cells, T-suppressor and T-helper functions, increases production of immunoglobulin G (IgG), interferon gamma, interleukins IL-1 and IL-2, reduces production of anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4 and IL-10, and potentiates the chemotaxis of neutrophils, monocytes and macrophages.
