Dementia Treatment Tool
Pharmacological effect Maruxa
Agent for treating dementia. It is a non-competitive antagonist of glutamate NMDA receptors (including in the black substance), and therefore reduces the overstimulating effect of cortical glutamate neurons on neostriatum, which develops amid insufficient dopamine release. By reducing the supply of Ca2+ to neurons, it reduces the possibility of their destruction.
It has nootropic, cerebrovasodilating, antihypoxic and psychostimulatory effects.
Improves memory weakness, increases concentration ability, reduces fatigue and depression symptoms, and decreases skeletal muscle spasticity caused by brain disease or damage.
Testimony Maruxa
Moderate to severe dementia in Alzheimer's disease.
Method of use, course and dosage
When ingested, the initial dose for adults is 5 mg/day. The dose can be increased weekly by five mg. The average maintenance dose is ten to twenty mg/day. The maximum dose is twenty mg/day.
