Instructions for Nalgesin (Naproxen)
Pharmacological properties:
NSAIDs have analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects. The mechanism of action of the drug is caused by the oppression of the synthesis of prostaglandins.
After ingestion is quickly absorbed in the digestive tract. The maximum concentration in blood plasma is reached 1-2 hours after taking and increases in proportion to the increase in the dose of the drug. About 99.5% of naproxen is associated with blood plasma albums at a concentration of up to 50 micrograms/ml. Approximately 70% of naproxen is excreted in an unchanged form and approximately 30% - in the form of inactive metabolite 6-dimeth-naproxen. Approximately 95% of the drug is excreted in urine, about 5% - with feces. The half-life does not depend on the dose and concentration in the blood plasma and is 12-15 hours.
Testimony:
- Headache and toothache, migraine, myalgia and artralgia (including flu and colds), lumbago, primary dysmenorrhea, pain syndrome in the postoperative period.
- application Inside, washed down with water. Adults, including the elderly, are prescribed one tablet every 8 to 12 hours (maximum daily dose of 3 tablets) during the period when symptoms are observed. At the beginning of treatment is prescribed in a double dose (either 2 tablets to take, or a second tablet 1 hour after the first).
- The dose of the drug for children with a body weight of 13 kg is 10 mg/kg, but should not exceed 15 mg/kg/day (in 2 receptions every 12 hours, under medical supervision).
contraindications:
Increased sensitivity to naproxen or other components of the drug, as well as to other NSAIDs, peptic ulcers of the stomach or duodenum, gastrointestinal bleeding. Thalgezin is not prescribed to children with a body weight ≤13 kg.
Side effects:
Most often occur when taking the drug in high doses. The frequency of side effects is 3-9%: abdominal pain, nausea, dyspepsia, diarrhea, dizziness, fatigue, sleep disturbances, tinnitus, swelling of the feet. Very rarely (with a frequency of ≤1%) there are gastrointestinal bleeding, swelling of the face, hives, bronchospasm or impaired consciousness.
Special instructions:
Patients with diseases of the upper gastrointestinal departments in history should be under medical supervision during treatment. With caution prescribed naproxen patients with ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease due to the possibility of recurrence or exacerbation of the disease. Caution should also be exercised when prescribing naproxen to patients with severe kidney and liver dysfunction, heart failure, patients with epilepsy, porphyria, hemostasis disorders, as well as patients who took anticoagulants or fibrinolithics. 1 tablet Ndalgezin contains 25 mg of sodium, which should be taken into account in patients who are on a diet with a restriction of table salt.
During pregnancy, the drug is prescribed only if the expected therapeutic effect for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. Not prescribed during the last trimester of pregnancy and during breast-feeding.
Interaction:
The simultaneous use of naproxene with acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs increases the risk of side effects, with lithium - increases the concentration of the latter in the blood plasma; with diuretics - can reduce their diuretic effect; with cyclosporine - to enhance the nephrotoxicity of cyclosporine; with methotrexate - to increase the toxicity of the latter; with antihypertensive means - reduces their effectiveness. It should be taken into account that when used with anticoagulants naproxen can increase the time of bleeding.
overdose:
Can manifest nausea, vomiting, pain in the epigastric area, dizziness, tinnitus, agitation, sometimes - vomiting with blood, chalk, impaired consciousness, respiratory depression, convulsions, OPN. Conduct gastric washing, prescribe activated charcoal. According to the indications, antacids, blockers H2 receptors, proton pump inhibitors or misoprostol, carry out symptomatic treatment.
storage conditions:
At room temperature.
