Pharmacy Nurofen:

NIPA, derived from phenylpropionic acid. Provides anti-inflammatory, analgetizing and heat-reducing effects.

The mechanism of action is related to the suppression of the activity of the TsOC, the main ferment of peanut acid metabolism, a precursor to prostate-glandins, which play a major role in the pathogenesis of inflammation, pain and fever. Analgesifying effect is caused both by peripheral (indirectly, through the suppression of the synthesis of prostate glandins) and by the central mechanism (inhibiting the synthesis of prostate glandins in the central and peripheral nervous system). Suppresses the aggregation of platelets.
