Instructions for Osteogenon 40 tablets 830 mg

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics
A regulator of phosphorus-calcium exchange that is used in systemic osteoporosis. The drug Osteogenon has a double effect on the metabolism of bone tissue: Stimulating to osteoblasts and inhibiting to osteoclasts. These different actions physiologically complement each other and regulate the balance between bone resorption and bone repair.

Calcium, which is part of the preparation, is contained in the form of hydroxyapatite, which contributes to a more complete absorption of calcium into the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, it inhibits parathhormone synthesis and prevents hormonal-induced bone resorption. The delayed release of calcium from hydroxyapatite results in no peak of hypercalcemia. Phosphorous involved in the crystallization of hydroxyapatite promotes calcium fixation in the bones and inhibits its its elimination by the kidneys. The organic component of the preparation (ossein) contains local regulators of bone tissue remodeling (transforming growth-beta factor (β-TGF), insulin-like growth factors I, II (IGF-I, IGF-II), osteocalcin, collagen I type, which activate the process of bone formation. β-TGF stimulates the activity of the superosteoblasts, increases their number, promotes collagen formation, and inhibits the formation of osteoclastic precursors. IGF-I and IGF-II stimulate collagen synthesis. Osteocalcin promotes the crystallization of bone tissue by calcium binding. Type I collagen provides bone matrix formation.

Pharmacokinetics
Absorption occurs at the level of the 12-ring intestine and the proximal part of the small intestine.

Testimony Osteogenon:

Systemic osteoporosis of various origins - primary (pre- and post-climacteric, climacteric, senile), secondary (caused by the use of GCS, heparin, immobilization, rheumatoid arthritis, liver and kidney diseases, hyperthyroidism, impaired osteogenesis); correction of disorders of phosphorus and calcium metabolism during pregnancy and breastfeeding; accelerate healing of bone fractures Joint and connective tissue dysplasia; as part of a complex treatment for scoliosis, a richitic deformation of the skeleton.

Application
Inside, with a little water.

In case of systemic osteoporosis, adults are prescribed 2-4 tablets 2 times a day. For faster consolidation of broken bones - 2 tablets 2-3 times a day. In other indications - 1-2 tablets per day. The duration of treatment for osteoporosis is 6-12 months; for bone fractures, after joint endoprosthesis and all other indications - 3 months. The duration of therapy is determined by the doctor depending on the degree of maturity of the bone callus
