Clinical-pharmacological groups / Group affiliation
Antihypertensive preparation
Miotropic spasmolytic
Active substance:
papaverine hydrochloride
bendazole hydrochloride
Pharmacotherapy group:
Spasmolytic agent
Pharmacological effect:
The combined preparation has spasmolytic, hypotensive and vasodilating effects.
Bendazol is a spasmolytic agent of myotropic action; it has hypotensive, vasodilating effect, stimulates function of spinal cord, has moderate immunostimulating activity.
Papaverine - spasmolytic agent, has a hypotensive effect. Inhibits phosphodiesterase, causes accumulation in the cell of cAMP and a decrease in calcium content, reduces tone and relaxes smooth muscles of internal organs (GI, respiratory and urogenital system) and vessels. In higher doses, it reduces cardiac muscle excitability and slows intra-cardiac conduction. The effect on the CNS is mild (in high doses it has a sedative effect).
Testimony:
Arterial hypertension (labile);
spasm of peripheral arteries and cerebral vessels;
spasm of smooth muscles of internal organs (including ulceration of stomach and duodenum, spasm of the gatekeeper, intestinal colic, cholecystitis, spastic colitis); polio (residual events);
peripheral facial nerve palsy.
Method of use, course and dosage:
Inside adults - 1-2 tab. 2-3 times/day.
Drug interaction:
The use of the preparation together with spasmolytics, sedative drugs Papazol, diuretics, tricyclic antidepressants, procainamide, reserpine and quinidine makes it possible to increase the degree of hypotensive effect.
Papazol weakens the action of anticholinesterase drugs Papazol on smooth musculature (galantamine, proserine, physiostigmin).
Adsorbents, astringent and enveloping drugs Papazol reduce the absorption of the preparation into the gastrointestinal tract.
