Pharmacological properties:
The drug contains 11 most important vitamins in an amount that provides a daily need for them in children aged 7 years and older. Vitamins are biologically active substances that regulate many biochemical processes in the body. The complex of B vitamins (V1, V2, V6, pantothenic acid) and nicotinamide take part in the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
Folic acid is essential for normal hematopoiesis. Vitamin A is essential for epithelial cell regeneration and optic pigment synthesis. Vitamin D regulates calcium absorption, promoting the mineralization of bone tissue and teeth. Vitamin C increases iron absorption and takes part in redox reactions. Vitamin E is a physiological antioxidant that protects cell membranes from free radical damage and promotes the preservation of cell functional activity. Picovit Forte tablets contain natural dyes and do not contain sugar.
Indications:
Increased need for vitamins with overwork and low concentration of attention in schoolchildren, with increased physical activity (including sports),
irregular and unbalanced nutrition,
reduced appetite,
with reduction diets or during seasonal deficits of fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as to reduce the severity of side effects due to antibiotic therapy.
Application:
Children aged 7 years and older - 1 tablet per day after eating. Tablets should be resorbed. With reduced appetite, tablets are prescribed for 2 months, in other cases, the duration of use is determined individually.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to drug components, hypervitaminosis A and D, age up to 7 years, phenylketonuria.
Side effects:
Allergic reactions. If the recommended doses are exceeded, diarrhea may develop.
Special instructions:
When prescribing to patients with diabetes mellitus, it should be borne in mind that each tablet contains 0.6 g of maltitol. The energy value of 1 tablet is about 1.4 kcal. The tablets include aspartame, which contains phenylalanine, so they are contraindicated in patients with phenylketonuria.
Interactions:

Overdose:
Taking the drug Pikovit at high doses for a long time can cause the development of hypervitaminosis A and D. Taking at doses higher than recommended can lead to the development of diarrhea due to the maltitol contained in the drug.
