The preparation has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects, which are carried out by suppressing COX-1 and COX-2, which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins. In addition, it reduces platelet aggregation, adhesiveness, and thrombus formation by inhibiting platelet-derived thromboxane A2 synthesis. Antiplatelet effects last up to 7 days after ingestion and are more pronounced in men than in women.
