Pharmacological effect Water for injections
Injection water has no pharmacological activity. Used as a solvent, it is used for the preparation of infusion and injection solutions, providing optimal conditions for the compatibility and efficiency of substrates and water.
Water is the basis of various transfusion preparations, biological tissues and liquids (blood, lymph, plasma of cells, etc.), necessary for the exchange processes.
Under normal conditions, water is released with urine, feces, sweat and respiration. The loss of fluid with sweat, respiration and caloric masses occurs regardless of fluid injection. Maintaining adequate hydration requires 30-45 ml/kg/day of water in adults; in children, 45-100 ml/kg, and in infants, 100-165 ml/kg.
