Pharmacotherapeutic group:
H1-histamine receptor blocker.
Pharmacological properties:
Histamine N1 (long-acting) receptor blocker. This is the main active metabolite of loratadine. Inhibits the release of histamine and leukotriene S4 from mast cells. Prevents the development and facilitates the course of allergic reactions. It has anti-allergic, anti-pruritic and anti-exudative effects. Reduces the permeability of capillaries, prevents the development of tissue swelling, relieves spasm of smooth muscle. Practically does not have a sedative effect and when taken at a dose of 7.5 mg does not affect the rate of psychomotor reactions. Comparative studies of desloratadine and loratadine showed no qualitative or quantitative differences in toxicity of the two drugs at comparable doses (considering desloratadine concentration).

Method of application:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 years and older are prescribed intravenously, regardless of food intake, at a dose of 5 mg/day.
For children aged 1 year to 5 years - 1.25 mg 1 time/day, for children aged 6 to 11 years - 2.5 mg 1 time/day.
Contraindications:
Phenylketonuria, pregnancy, lactation period, childhood age up to 1 year, hypersensitivity to desloratadine.
