Instructions for Bonderm (Mupirocin) ointment

Composition:
1 g mupirocin 20 mg Excipients: macrogol 400 - 587 mg, macrogol 3350 - 393 mg

Indications Bonderm:
Primary and secondary infectious skin lesions caused by sensitive to mupirocinomas microorganisms, including: - primary skin infections: pyoderma (streptoderma, staphyloderma): impetigo, sycosis, folliculitis, furunculosis (including furuncles of the external auditory canal and auricle); - secondary infections: infected eczema, infected atopic, contact and allergic dermatitis, infected injuries (abrasions, cuts, scratches, insect bites),

trophic ulcers, minor (not requiring hospitalization) wounds and burns. Prevention of bacterial lesions and their complications arising from small paran, cuts, pressure sores.

Pharmacodynamics:
Mupirocin is a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic topical application. It inhibits the synthesis of bacterial proteins by reversible and specific binding to isoleucyl transport RNA synthetase. Affects the causative agents of skin infections: Staphylococcus aureus (including methicillin-resistant strains), Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus saprophytics and Streptococcus pyogenes (including coagulase-negative).

It does not have cross-resistance with chloramphenicol, erythromycin, fusidic acid, gates itcin, lincomycin, methicillin, neomycin, streptomycin, tetracycline.

Pharmacokinetics:
Mupirocin practically does not penetrate intact skin. In the case of absorption through damaged skin, it is metabolized to a microbiologically inactive metabolite - monic acid - and is rapidly excreted from the body by the kidneys.

Side effects Bonderm:
Bonderm ointment is well tolerated. Very rarely, burning, itching and dryness are observed at the site of application of the drug. Skin allergic reactions (edema at the site of application, rash) to mupirocin or ointment base were rarely observed.

When using the ointment in isolated cases, generalized allergic reactions have been reported.

Special conditions:
Macrogol, which is part of the ointment for external use, is absorbed from open wounds and damaged skin and excreted by the kidneys, therefore, patients with severe chronic renal failure should use the drug with caution in large areas of the skin. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water until the ointment remains completely removed. In rare cases of allergic reactions or significant irritation of the skin with Bonderm ointment, treatment should be discontinued, rinse the affected area with water to remove ointment residues and prescribe alternative antibacterial therapy. Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms

Adverse effects on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms were not observed. Overdose Cases of overdose have not yet been reported.

Contraindications:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the drug; - children's age up to 3 years. Precautions: renal failure. P

Use during pregnancy and lactation There is currently insufficient data on the use of mupirocin in pregnancy, so the use of the drug is possible if the expected benefit exceeds the possible risk of complications.

Excretion of the drug into breast milk is unlikely, however, the use of the drug in nursing mothers is possible if the expected benefit exceeds the risk of development, complications.

Drug Interactions:
The simultaneous use with other drugs for external use should be avoided, as this can reduce the antibacterial activity or stability of mupirocin in the ointment.

Dosage:
Outwardly. A small amount of Bonderm ointment is applied to the affected surface of the skin 2-3 times a day. The course of treatment is up to 10 days, depending on the severity of the lesion. In the absence of a clinical effect after 5 days of treatment, it is recommended to review the diagnosis and further treatment tactics taking into account the dynamics of clinical indicators.

Bonderm ointment can be applied using an aseptic dressing or applied under an occlusive dressing. Children and elderly patients: no restrictions are required. Impaired liver function: no correction required.
