Pharmacokinetics:

In the case of infusion at a rate of about 2 ml/min (in terms of undiluted Cytoflavin), amber acid and inosine are disposed of almost instantaneously and are not detected in the blood plasma. Inosine is metabolized in the liver to form hypoxanthine and then oxidized to uric acid. In small numbers it is released by the kidneys. Nicotinamide is rapidly distributed throughout the tissue, penetrates the placental barrier, and is released with breast milk. It is metabolized in the liver to form Nicotinamide-N-methylNicotinamide, excreted by the kidneys.

T1/2 of plasma is about 1.3 h, Vss about 60 l, total clearance about 0.6 l/min. Riboflavin is distributed unevenly: The greatest amount is in myocardium, liver, kidneys. T1/2 of plasma is about 2 h, Vss about 40 l, total clearance about 0.3 l/min. It penetrates the placental barrier and is excreted with breast milk. Binding to plasma proteins is 60%. Excreted by the kidneys, partly as a metabolite; when used in high doses, preferably in the unchanged form.
