pharmachologic effect Indomethacin:

NSAIDs, a derivative of indoleacetic acid. It has an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect. The mechanism of action is associated with the inhibition of the COX enzyme, which leads to inhibition of the synthesis of prostaglandins from arachidonic acid.

Inhibits platelet aggregation.
When injected orally and parenterally, it helps to weaken the pain syndrome, especially pain in the joints at rest and during movement, reduce morning stiffness and swelling of the joints, increase the volume of movements. The anti-inflammatory effect develops by the end of the first week of treatment.

Testimony Indomethacin:

Joint syndrome (including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout), spinal pains, neuralgia, myalgia, traumatic inflammation of soft tissues and joints, rheumatism, diffuse connective tissue diseases, dysmenorrhea. As an aid for infectious and inflammatory diseases of the ENT organs, adnexitis, prostate, cystitis.

Designed for symptomatic therapy, pain reduction and inflammation at the time of application, the disease progression is not affected.

Method of use, course and dosage Indomethacin:

Set individually to take into account the severity of the disease. For adults, the initial dose is 25 mg two to three times daily. If there is insufficient clinical effect, the dose is increased to 50 mg three times a day. The long-acting medicinal forms are used once or twice daily. The maximum daily dose combined with any dosage form of indometacin is 200 mg.

When the effect is achieved, the treatment is continued for four weeks at the same or reduced dose. For prolonged use, the daily dose should not exceed 75 mg. Taken after eating.
For the maintenance treatment, 50-100 mg is rectally administered once per night.

Use in liver disorders Indomethacin
It is contraindicated in cases of pronounced liver dysfunctions. It is used with caution in liver diseases.

Application in elderly patients
It is used with caution in elderly patients.

Use in children
It is contraindicated for children under 14 years of age.
